The Backstory

Dutchy Designs is owned and operated by Arie Opzeeland. With over 10 years of experience in visual design, Arie has been able to accumulate a client list ranging from start-ups to globally recognized companies. He has been featured in Martha Stewart Online Weddings and has made a name for himself in Ventura County for being able to work with a wide variety of industries. Arie’s niche focuses on brand consistency and development so it’s only natural that the majority of companies who initially hop on board for one project eventually turn into consistent monthly campaigns.

Keeping it consistent and custom for each client will always be the focus. It’s the Dutch Touch.

Arie started his professional career at a private golf club designing all the advertisement, restaurant menus, and special event signage that was used throughout the clubhouse and 18-hole course. After 7 years he got picked up by a website development company to be their in-house graphic designer and delve into the website building world. After 2 years of learning the ins and outs of development, he started contracting enough clients on the side to start his own design agency. With a personable attitude and an eye for custom details, Dutchy Designs acquired three of its largest clients - Accuride International, Senseon Secure Systems, and Harbor Freight Tools, who’s scope of work range from web design to national convention signage. He is now on contract with Amgen focusing on targeted social media campaigns, brand advocacy and internal/external communications.

Arie has become a favorite for weddings by turning a couples’ shared interest into a personalized brand. Logos, invites, save the dates, websites, event signage, informationals, itineraries, menus, and table signs are all part of his repertoire that deserve to be showcased together and tied to a consistent chosen theme. Being married for 5 years, Arie understands wedding planning and all the immense details that go into making that day as fluid as possible. He was able to embellish his and his wife’s own personality and interests of music and wine into every piece of printed artwork displayed for guests.

Being an active musician who brews beer, It deemed most appropriate to start a Youtube channel called Steep & Steel exploring music collaborations and interesting brews. Explorations, concerts, wine, and Dutch obsessions fill out the remaining free time while residing in Thousand Oaks, CA with his wife and 2 miniature pinschers.
